What to Expect

Initial Visit

Your initial visit will involve a thorough assessment of your symptoms to determine what the problem is. From this we will outline a treatment plan to get you back on the road to recovery and start treatment. To ensure you maximize time with your therapist, we ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment. This will allow adequate time to complete the initial registration and any relevant consent forms. We respect your time and strive to keep on schedule. You can expect to be at the clinic for approximately 30 minutes or slightly longer depending on the type of treatment.

Any treatments or exercises prescribed as part of your treatment will be carefully explained to you by your therapist. If you are unclear on any part of your treatment at Salus, we strongly encourage you to ask us questions. You are an integral part of your own treatment and our goal is to provide you with the necessary tools and information to enable you to take an active role in your healing and recovery in order to get you back to your preferred sport or activity as soon as possible.

Depending on your area of injury, shorts or a tank top would be useful to bring with you. Don’t worry if you forget, Salus will provide you with shorts or a gown as needed. This will allow us to assess your symptoms thoroughly and appropriately. If you have any questions or concerns about this please talk to your therapist.

Follow up appointments are usually 30-40 minutes and the number needed varies from person to person dependent on their injury or the nature of their problem. Together with your therapist, you can decide on the optimal number of treatments necessary to maximize your recovery and return to activity or sport.

At Salus our goal is to help relieve your pain and get you back moving, we believe in “Movement for Life”.
