Cinzia Toniolo — Pilates Instructor
Cinzia's favorite form of "exercise" as a child growing up in Italy was reading.
Although always feeling clumsy, she discovered a joy for hiking as a teenager and realized that, with practise, she could achieve coordination. Learning from her own experiences as a hiker and runner, she realized that better stability translates into improved ease of movement and reduced likelihood of injuries.
Cinzia began her career in movement as a fitness instructor in 2000. It was
during this time that she was introduced to Pilates. In 2001 she completed her Pilates mat work training with the Physical Mind Institute and began teaching classes throughout Vancouver. By the spring of 2005 she completed her full Pilates equipment training with a 500-hour apprenticeship training program and has been teaching full time since 2005.
She continues to participate in workshops on core stability, shoulder alignment, posture and imbalance correction and rehabilitation of the hip and knee. She has worked with a wide range of age groups and has developed a Mat Work class specifically for runners, incorporating foam rollers and stability balls.
Witnessing her clients reaping the benefits is a continually motivating reward as is the need to foster their motivation.
